Global

Here at Walnut Street, we believe in an Acts 1:8 philoophy of missions. We are fulfilling the call to reach the lost in our Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the uttermost. Unlike many other churches, we have the wonderful opportunity to serve our community in the downtown-urban setting. We also offer mission trips throughout the year to different states and around the world. Look at each option to the left and pray for where God may be asking you to GO!

GO! - Community

CSM Christian Social Ministries
The Christian Social Ministries exists to link congregational resources with people in the church and community who have financial, physical, educational, spiritual, and emotional needs. On a daily basis we collect and distribute basic items such as clothing, food, household items, personal hygiene items and furniture. We also provide financial assistance for rent, utilities, and prescription medication to families and individuals with little or no financial resources. In addition to these daily activities, a number of special programs throughout the year seek to address both the causes and effects of poverty in our community.

If you are interested in serving with the Walnut Street Community Ministries email Angela Carpenter or call (502)589-3454.

IRP Infant Resource Project

Mission - The purpose of the Infant Resource Project is to prevent tor lessen the devastating effects of poverty during the critical first years of life. IRP began in 1984 as a part of East Baptist Ministries and is now located in the Walnut Street Office Building in Old Louisville. We continue to work with caring individuals, churches of different denominations, businesses and civic organizations who actively provide support.  IRP provides the essential items for baby care to assist families in need in giving their baby a better start in life; assists with emergency supplies of formula and baby food to prevent malnutrition; reduces feellings of isolation, fear, and hopelessness experienced by some mothers through the support of staff and volunteers;  and increases the amount of resources available to the client by making referrals to appropriate agencies. Needs include Equipment: cribs, mattresses, new seats, strollers, high chairs, bassinets, playpens and baby beds; Diapering Items: disposable diapers, diaper rash ointment and diaper wipes; Feeding Supplies: formula cereal, baby food, juice bottles, bottle brushes, toddler drinking cups and spoons; Clothing: sizes Newborn through 3T; Winter Outerwear: sizes Newborn through 3T; Toiletries: shampoo, lotion, baby bath, gentle laundry detergent, powder and gel.

If you are interested in serving, or if you may need this type of assistance email or call (502) 584-2343.

Walnut Street has been partering the pacific Northwest for over ten years. We take a team annually to serve in this highly unchurched area. Since hurricane Katrina, we have also developed strong partenships along the Gulf Coast and we're expanding our parterships in New Orleans. As always, we are open to developing new parterships in our region. Walnut Street continues it's historical partership with the North American Mission Board (SBC) in reaching the lost all across the United States and Canada.

If you are interested in being a part of this mission by giving or going, please email Todd Robertson or call (502) 589-5290.
