Adults

The Christian life was never meant to be walked alone. Below are some ways that you can get connected at Walnut Street as we enjoy fellowship and grow in faith together.

  • Sunday School

Sunday School groups meets at 9:30am weekly. We hope you will take this time to be intentional about getting to know others at church by spending time studying the Bible together and praying with and for one another.

  • Wednesday Night Bible Study

On Wednesdays we have dinner together at 5:15pm, followed by a short service at 6:00pm. We sing hymns, pray together, and listen as Pastor Coye preaches a sermon, usually going through a book of the Bible. We invite you to join us!

  • Young Adults

The young adults group is a fellowship group aimed at equipping 18 to 25 year olds to grow in their walks with God. We meet during the Sunday School hour, and on a typical morning, we split our time across personal study, group discussion, and formal teaching as we seek to deepen our knowledge of the Scriptures.  Whether you are attending college or trade school, recently graduated, are working, or still trying to figure out what you’re doing in life, we would love for you to join us on Sundays at 9:30 in room M-305!

  • Senior Adults (OASIS)

Our Senior Adult Ministry is called OASIS (Older Adults Still In Service). Our monthly meetings include a devotion, music, and an entertainer or speaker. Our gatherings are for those 55 and up and are open to the public. Lunch is provided for $5. Annual dues are $10.

We meet every fourth Monday of the month (except December) at 10:45AM in the Dining Room of the Activities Building. We meet the third Monday of the month in May due to Memorial Day. We hope you come and visit us for a time of learning and friendly Christian fellowship among believers.

  • Women's Ministry (WOWS)

Women of Walnut Street (WOWS) is designed to empower the women of Walnut Street to grow in Christ and make a difference for Him in our world. We want to equip women through fellowship and discipleship so that we can serve our church and community in the ways that God has gifted us. We do this by regularly offering Bible Study sessions and gathering to serve the needs in our community.

  • Women's Missionary Union (WMU)

As part of the Woman’s Missionary Union, the Women on Mission Group of Walnut Street Baptist Church joins with women around the world to learn about, pray for, and support missions. Each month we learn from different speakers and participate in missions through mission action projects. We meet at 10:30 am on the 2nd Tuesday of each month in the WMU History Room on the 3rd floor of the Main Building.
