Children's Ministry


At Walnut Street Baptist Church, our children's ministry seeks to share with all children the good news of Jesus Christ. We are committed to loving, caring for, and preparing the next generation to be disciples of Christ. Sunday school and childcare are offered for newborns-5th graders. We can't wait to meet you!

Nursery


  • Childcare is offered to all children not yet in preschool during the Sunday School hour and church service
  • All of our volunteers are background checked before serving. They are excited to provide excellent care so that parents can attend church!
  • A Mother's room is available outside of the sanctuary.

PreK - 5th Grade


  • At 9:15am children will begin the morning on the second floor of the children's building eating breakfast.
  • At 9:30am we make our way across the hall for worship and opening activities.
  • From 10:00-10:45 children will be separated according to their age for Sunday School. Each Sunday School class follows along with Lifeway’s Gospel Project curriculum.
  • Kids 7 and up are then encouraged to attend service with their parent or guardian. Children younger than 7 have the option of staying in childcare while their parents attend church.

Wednesdays


  • Every Wednesday evening children and parents gather together for dinner beginning at 5:15pm in the dining hall.
  • At 6:00pm, children then separate from the adult congregation and go to the second floor of the children's building.
  • In grade level classrooms, teachers take children through the exciting TeamKid curriculum. They’ll have the opportunity each week to read their Bibles, learn new Bible lessons, and participate in games.
  • Nursery and toddler care is offered to parents in attendance of adult Bible study.

Transportation


  • If you have circumstances preventing you from bringing your child and you live near the church, we may be able to assist you.
